Fall Harvest Workshop
Welcomes Cherry Adair as our featured speaker.

New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair’s innovative action-adventure novels have appeared on numerous bestsellers lists, won dozens of awards and garnered praise from reviewers and fans alike. With the creation of her kick butt counterterrorist group, T-FLAC, years before action adventure romances were popular, Cherry has carved a niche for herself with her sexy, sassy, fast-paced, action adventure novels. She is hard at work on two new series, and loves to hear from readers. Visit Cherry on the web at www.cherryadair.com

An Intensive One-Day Workshop

will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

Cherry will be discussing:

LAYER AND TEXTURE YOUR NOVEL

(this is good for all levels and genres)

There’s more to a novel than good story telling. There has to be a balance of dialog, narration, research, and description. In this fast moving, fun class learn when too much research is too much, and how to subtly layer what you need into your story so that it blends seamlessly. Discover how much dialog is enough, and how to use it to strengthen your characters, and move the story forward. Learn how to layer dialog, action, narration and exposition to make your words sing on the page.

And New This Year - An Optional Half-Day Workshop

will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Cherry will be discussing:

WRITING LUMINOUS DIALOG

Dialog isn’t “How would you like your eggs?” (Unless they are dinosaur eggs!) Dialog serves multiple purposes. Learn how to make your dialog sparkle and sing. Discover ways to insert accents or dialects that are readable, but still authentic. Learn how to change narrative into dialog. Learn about ‘white space’ and how to use it to make the story move faster. Find out how to write each character to make them ‘sound’ like themselves so that you don’t always have to use tags to identify them. Learn how to write various types of dialog –as in action scenes, or romantic scenes or a scene where the reader has to learn the characters backstory.
